DDR
DDR aims primarily to deal with the post-conflict security problem that arises when ex-combatants are left without livelihoods or support networks, other than their former comrades. DDR disarms and demilitarises combatants, and importantly supports the process of integrating them socially and economically into communities and civil society as part of a wider stabilisation and peacebuilding process.
